Job description

At Envirogen Technologies, we deliver advanced water solutions as a premier Lifecycle Performance Company. We are seeking a high-calibre Sampling and Lab Technician to join our team in at our Memphis office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for science and laboratory work to develop their skills in a hands-on environment supporting water treatment testing and laboratory operations.

As a Sampling and Lab Technician, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, supporting pilot testing of water treatment equipment, preparing and processing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and accurately recording results. You will play an important role in ensuring laboratory activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, label and process samples for testing and analysis.

• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures in line with established protocols.

• Record, analyse and maintain accurate laboratory data and test results.

• Operate, calibrate, clean and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

• Monitor laboratory inventory levels and support the ordering of supplies and materials.

• Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures, regulations and quality standards.

• Ensure the correct handling, storage and disposal of laboratory specimens and hazardous materials.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.

• Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and testing issues.

• Work collaboratively with laboratory colleagues and other departments to support daily operations.

• Assist with the setup of pilot units and associated equipment for testing activities.

• Carry out other duties as required to support the laboratory function.

About You

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science or a related discipline is advantageous.

• Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not essential.

• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment and safety procedures.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to follow written procedures and maintain detailed records.

• Competent in the use of basic computer applications and data entry systems.

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Good manual dexterity for operating laboratory equipment and handling small instruments.

• Ability to wear and work with required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Comfortable working in an environment where exposure to chemicals, biological materials and other laboratory hazards may occur, while following established safety procedures.
