This role is an associate‑level scientist position to become part of an existing, experienced team of scientists based in Wilmington, DE supporting host construction, improvement, and product development projects. Candidates must have proven experience and a strong foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or microbiology. This will be a predominantly lab‑based role with a focus on constructing microbial cell factories and understanding and optimizing their performance in the relevant industrial applications.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to project‑related workstreams to understand performance of our cell factories and their products in the relevant industrial applications.
  • Contribute to strain construction workstreams using modern molecular and cell biology.
  • Support optimization, analysis and improvement of cell factories based on project direction and data.
  • Carry out work that requires collaboration with others as part of a project team to deliver on project goals.
  • Carry out project work as directed by project leader.
  • Explore and implement new methods and technologies with project team.
  • Generate and effectively communicate data.
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, presentations, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documents.
  • Understanding of basic scientific principles of molecular biology, biochemistry and microbial physiology.

Preferred Experience
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry.
  • 1–3 years of research experience in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry.
