Job description

What You Will Do
  • Create the vision and secure funding for new concepts.
  • Lead multiple, multi‑million‑dollar R&D and transition programs.
  • Plan and execute field tests on land or at sea.
  • Regularly meet or exceed the metrics of challenging R&D programs.
  • Handle complex technical challenges while helping researchers focus on the technical work and the big picture of their efforts.
  • Travel to partner, customer, and corporate sites.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience.
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance required prior to start date.
  • Fluent in at least one commonly used programming language such as Python, MATLAB, C, or C++.
  • Experience forming and leading teams of scientists and engineers through the full lifecycle of technology development.
  • 10+ years of experience related to physical sciences, mechanical engineering, sensing and signal processing, acoustics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in physical sciences or engineering.
  • Successful capture of new R&D contracts from U.S. Government customers such as DARPA, ONR, or U.S. Navy PMOs.
  • Previous experience working within research and development engineering organizations.
Location & Compensation

Location: Middletown, RI. Position is onsite at the company headquarters. Salary range: 132,400 USD – 251,600 USD. Relocation assistance is available.
