Accounting Specialist

Starting Pay: $50,353/year

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt

Location: Hybrid eligible after 90 days

Certified Spanish or Somali proficiency may qualify for additional pay.

What You’ll Do

As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of First Alliance Credit Union. You’ll work behind the scenes to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth daily accounting operations—helping the organization make informed decisions and stay compliant.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze & Reconcile – Prepare journal entries, perform complex reconciliations, and ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Report & Support – Assist with financial reporting, audits, NCUA call reports, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review & Improve – Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Coordinate & Collaborate – Partner with the Accounting Manager and team to keep workflows on track and meet deadlines.
  • Guide & Share Knowledge – Serve as a technical resource, supporting team members with training, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Process & Maintain – Handle wires, investments, and accounting system updates with precision and care.
