Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all assigned areas inside and outside the manufacturing facility, including production equipment, machinery, and general grounds.
  • Perform detailed sanitation of food production and manufacturing areas in accordance with GMP and food safety standards.
  • Follow HAACP principles and company sanitation protocols to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
  • Proficiently use plant touch screens to initiate and monitor CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures on designated equipment.
  • Handle, mix, and apply cleaning chemicals and sanitizers safely, following labeling instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate proper use of cleaning tools such as squeegees, mops, brooms, hand and floor scrapers, and paint brushes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of custodial and janitorial areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces.
  • Conduct routine housekeeping tasks to keep production and support areas organized and free of debris.
  • Communicate effectively with production and sanitation team members to coordinate cleaning schedules and tasks.
  • Work independently on a small sanitation team, managing assigned duties and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support industrial cleaning activities in both food manufacturing and chemical production areas as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to respirator fit test requirements.
  • Report any equipment issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Help maintain compliance with regulatory and internal audits related to sanitation, GMP, and food safety.
  • Assist with additional janitorial and custodial duties as required to support overall facility cleanliness.

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks within a small sanitation team and with production staff.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned sanitation duties.
  • Comfort working around food production, flavors, and chemical-based products.
  • Reliability and consistent work history demonstrating good job tenure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food production, food manufacturing, or related environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and safe use of cleaning products and sanitizers.
  • Understanding of production workflows and the impact of sanitation on manufacturing efficiency.
  • Comfort working in both edible product environments (e.g., seasonings, food colorings) and non-edible product environments (e.g., essential oils for candles).
  • Willingness to comply with respirator fit test requirements, including shaving facial hair once per year.
  • Ability to wear required PPE consistently, including hair nets, beard nets, and other GMP-related protective equipment.
  • Readiness to wear steel-toe footwear as part of daily work attire.

Why Work Here?

You join a family-owned organization that genuinely invests in your long-term success and encourages you to grow into a permanent role. The company promotes from within, offers raises after you become permanent, and creates a fun, team-oriented culture with activities such as company softball games, holiday parties with generous giveaways, and special event days like Chic-Fil-A days and summer softball tournaments. Major holidays are typically paid, supporting stability and work-life balance while you build your career in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a medium-sized GMP manufacturing company that produces flavors and related substances in a fast-paced, production-driven environment with frequent communication across teams. You work on a small, close-knit sanitation team and are expected to manage tasks independently.
