Job description

PRODUCTION(S): Various Shows (i.e. Snapped, Fatal Attraction, Killer Couples, etc.)

General Overview:

An Associate Producer needs to be extremely organized and able to keep up with the fast pace of multiple-episode seasons. The AP needs to be detail-oriented, have a clear understanding of show structure, and be able to work well under pressure.

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare materials and be the point of contact for Writers for episodes
  • Attend pre-pro and recreation meetings
  • Check in with pre-pro about any pending FOIA’s
  • Coordinate materials for pickups with Field Producer
  • Manage, name and organize all archives for each episode
  • Research the case to find news archives
  • Fact check scripts
  • Contacting Interviewees for questions/archives
  • Create Casting and Recreation Documents
  • Address network notes
  • Track releases
  • Prepare web bonus materials
  • Match scripts for network/EP’s/VO
  • Answer any questions from legal
  • Take notes in VO sessions 
  • Keep up with milestone and waterfall schedules
  • Attend weekly post meetings
  • QC each episode with SCP/PP
  • Prepare Deliverables
  • Make air calls

  • Ability to work department hours of 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
