Sentry Insurance is seeking a Data Engineer - .NET Web Development to join our team in our Middleton, WI office location.

The Data Engineer - .NET Web Development will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and testing a custom-built web application for Sentry's data lake solution. A critical component of our cloud-based data lake, the application manages all metadata and acts as the presentation layer for the entire ecosystem. You will implement scalable, resilient, and maintainable features. You will ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve user issues and code defects.

  • What it Takes:

    • Bachelors Degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 2 years of data engineering experience. As part of the 2 years of data engineering experience required, the individual must have:

      • At least two years of experience with programming languages and frameworks relevant to the role including: Microsoft .NET, C#, REST API, JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, CSS, and SQL Server.

      • Minimum of two years of experience developing code in the following IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

      • At least two years of experience using tools and systems relevant to the role including: Git, Postman, Bootstrap, and AutoMapper.

      • At least two years developing software following agile methodology.

      • At least two years of experience applying software development design. principles and best practices relevant to the role including: Object-Oriented Programming Principles, SOLID Design Principles, and Clean Architect.
