Job description

Transportation Operations Analyst

The Transportation Operations Analyst supports Abercrombie & Fitch's Direct-to-Consumer parcel network by driving daily carrier operations, performance management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a critical link between transportation operations, carrier partners, distribution centers, finance, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a best-in-class customer delivery experience while optimizing transportation costs.

This role is foundational to maintaining a reliable and cost-effective parcel transportation network that supports millions of annual customer shipments. The position helps ensure operational excellence, drives data-based decision making, improves customer delivery outcomes, and supports strategic transportation initiatives across the A&F supply chain.

Transportation Operations

  • Monitor daily parcel carrier performance across North America transportation partners.
  • Investigate and resolve transportation disruptions, service failures, late deliveries, and customer-impacting issues.
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational escalations with internal stakeholders and external carriers.
  • Support peak planning activities and execution readiness for high-volume periods.
  • Track carrier service performance, transit times, and delivery commitments.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute transportation performance reporting and dashboards.
  • Analyze shipping trends, cost drivers, volume forecasts, and carrier performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service, reduce transportation costs, and enhance customer experience.
  • Perform root cause analysis on operational issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, and carrier financial analysis.

Carrier & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with carrier account teams to drive operational improvements and issue resolution.
  • Participate in recurring business reviews and performance discussions with transportation providers.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Centers, Customer Care, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with contractual and operational expectations.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify manual processes and implement automation opportunities using tools such as Microsoft Power Platform and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Document transportation processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Support testing and implementation of transportation initiatives, system enhancements, and network optimization projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence.

What You Need to Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, analytics, or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with parcel carriers and transportation networks.
  • Background in retail, eCommerce, distribution, fulfillment operations, or relevant experience.
  • Continuous improvement and project management experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with transportation management, parcel operations, or supply chain systems.
  • Ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into business recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable balancing operational execution with strategic analysis.
