Job description

SHORT DESCRIPTION (2): Assists the Engineering Department, Performs Process Equipment Validation & Performance Testing, Performs Product Tests and Report Results, Maintains Work Instruction release process, Supports EC Process Documentation


1.     Supports the Engineering Department responsibilities with Documentation to include product testing and equipment performance. Recording test data and reporting results

2.     Maintain the Work Instruction Master list to include controlled and uncontrolled locations. Responsible to ensure released copies are in their assigned locations and appropriately approved for use.

3.     Perform process improvement studies to include Takt Time, lean studies and make recommendations. Data collection and reporting to Manufacturing Engineers.

4.     Participate in FMEA, PFMEA, and other 6-Sigma tools as appropriate

5.     Perform process validation studies under supervision of Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers. Use of quality measurement tools to include calipers, multimeters, computers, high-pots, oscilloscope, etc. Document and report results.

6.     Specification and Process review, identification of documentation gaps, making recommendations, and supporting the creation and review of appropriate documentation as needed by the department.

7.     Support the circulation, follow-up and follow-through with open ECNs. Maintain the integrity of the EC process documentation and completeness. Attend and support process improvements and EC Audits.

8.     Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting. Support with the application of 5-Why’s, Ishikawa diagrams, Change/Event, DOE. Able to independently investigate, recommend, and report findings to Mfg Engineers.

9.     Assist in process improvements by performing process audits against documented instructions, recommending improvements, documenting results.

10.   Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in a Technical field or Technical Writing. Previous experience in technical writing or work instruction creation. Must be able to perform engineering tests and document/report results accurately. Highly organized and process driven. Familiar with various engineering tools and equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, etc). Familiar with troubleshooting methods. MSWord/Excel/Power Point/Visio, Verbal & Visual Communication.


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Six Sigma Green Belt. PCBA Process/Fabrication Knowledge. Mechanical or Electrical Design Skills, Value Stream Mapping, Process Equipment Programming,
