JOB DESCRIPTION

At Soartress Hospitality, we believe exceptional guest experiences start behind the scenes. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations at the Sheraton Suites Columbus/Worthington—an all-suite, full-service hotel where quality, reliability, and presentation matter at every level.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their building, and leads by example.


What You’ll Do

Lead a Complex, Full-Service Operation

  • Direct all engineering and maintenance functions across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, and event areas
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of all building systems and equipment
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, and mechanical systems
  • Ensure the upkeep of the building exterior, grounds, and curb appeal, including seasonal maintenance

Drive Performance, Compliance & Asset Protection

  • Ensure compliance with **Marriott International brand standards, safety regulations, and all applicable codes
  • Monitor life safety systems, utilities, and overall building infrastructure
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activity, inspections, and preventative maintenance programs

Lead & Develop Your Team

  • Supervise, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians and engineers
  • Create a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork aligned with Soartress values
  • Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to proactively address operational needs

Enhance the Guest & Event Experience

  • Ensure all guest-facing areas—from suites to meeting spaces—meet or exceed brand standards
  • Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance needs to minimize guest disruption
  • Support banquet and event operations with timely and reliable engineering support


What You Bring
