About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Gore Performance Solutions Quality Team in support of the Intermediates Supply Group. In this role you will support manufacturing by providing technical quality support for commercial product manufacturing and derivative product development. Daily activities will include determining and mitigating risk to product, owning product specifications, evaluating product quality, responding to trends in quality metrics, and hands-on problem solving.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide change management input and signoff for technical quality reviews ensuring Fitness for Use (FFU) and the quality system requirements are being met
  • Develop, validate, and document test methods, inspection and testing processes, visual standards, and sampling plans
  • Work with internal partners to develop and own Intermediate Product Specifications
  • Ensure product requirements are appropriately applied across the value stream
  • Develop and own Intermediate Product Specifications
  • Work with internal partners to identify and resolve issues or concerns and drive improvement activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks due to calibration events, including the possibility of customer notification
  • Investigate and disposition NCMR materials
  • Gain an understanding of product processing and collaborate with process engineers in a small team setting.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (such as Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Material Science) with a minimum of 3 years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with quality tools such as Management of Change, Non-conformances, Customer Complaints, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests
  • Experience working with ISO9001 quality systems, documentation, and methodologies
  • Experience successfully interacting with cross-functional teams and influencing others with strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Gage R&R/MSA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5 Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, and 8D
  • Ability to make effective risk-based decisions, including the use of FMEA
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical tools to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot activities
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, drive to completion, and concurrently manage multiple products and projects in an ambiguous, dynamic environment
  • Ability to both work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
