Job description

OVERVIEW
This role manages medical and supply inventory to ensure clinical teams have the products they need while maintaining accurate stock levels, documentation, and regulatory compliance. The position monitors inventory, investigates discrepancies, coordinates product changes and transfers, handles stocking and returns, and communicates supply issues to healthcare staff. It also supports process improvements, tracks performance metrics, and collaborates with clinical and supply chain teams to improve efficiency and patient care.
SCHEDULE: 40-hours per week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, training, licensure, certification, experience, and/or abilities required for the role.   • Responsible for the overall periodic inventory management plan, including par levels, restocking plans, inventory accuracy, and required documentation.
  • Facilitates clear and timely communication of supply needs between clinical area(s) and Supply Chain.
  • Utilizes data to ensure an effective stocking plan.
  • Investigates inventory discrepancies and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinates department product changes.
  • Monitors for expired & obsolete products, rotating, removing, and documenting identified items.
  • Coordinates product transfers with other areas across the health system.
  • Physically stocks, processes returns and picks supplies as needed.
  • Communicates product delays & substitutes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of process changes to support efficient, safe, and effective product management.
  • Consistently applies Supply Chain standards and best practices.
  • Provides guidance and support for projects as assigned.
  • Assists in the development, collection, and reporting of supply related Key Performance Indicator (KPIs).
  • Assists with the management of consignment and vendor-managed products as needed.
  • Attends clinical department meetings and huddles as needed.
  • Participates in Value Analysis and product review committees as needed
  • Prioritizes the needs of the patient and care team.
  • Communicates in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Utilizes information technology tools to ensure capabilities are optimized.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Joint Commission (JC), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that Supply Chain equipment is in good working order.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
  • Associates degree in related field

Preferred:
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 2 Years of acute care supply or clinical experience
  • Experience in MMIS (Materials Management Information System) software
  • CPIM (Certified in Planning & Inventory Management) or other related certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Minimum Required:
  • None

Preferred:
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
