Position Purpose
Manage the team to support the plant supply chain and production goals.ย 

Roles and Responsibilities:
ย  ย Provides input for plant strategy, develops the plant Supply Chain strategy according to higher level strategies ย ย 
ย  ย Implements the Supply Chain plant organization structure according to global standards
ย  ย Implements and maintains global and regional standards and processesย 
ย  ย Derives Supply Chain plant targets from the higher level (global / regional) target and defines additional Supply Chain targets for the plant and ensures their achievement and initiates countermeasures ย  ย 
ย  ย Introduces sustainable Supply Chain processes into Process "Make & Deliver"ย 
ย  ย Ensures compliance with global/regional standard processes and regulations
ย  ย Implements and ensures that customer requirements are met ย 
ย  ย Ensures the implementation of the capacity planning tool in the plantย 
ย  ย Ensures the high quality of Supply Chain master data and that all interfaces are met; monitors the quality of Supply Chain master data and initiates countermeasuresย 
ย  ย Optimizes Supply Chain processes and working capital according to BOSLE principles; increases delivery services
ย  ย Acts as contact person for customers, suppliers and service providers, transport forwarder on plant level
ย  ย Ensures proper securing of loads
ย  ย Promotes a respectful work environment and recruits, develops and retains (functionally and disciplinarily reporting) resources to maintain a qualified, motivated and productive workforce. Leads by example andย  ย  ย  lives up to Benteler's mission, values and global leadership principles. Uses standard HR tools e.g. the appraisal process to provide regular feedback and agree upon tasks and goals with respective employees
ย  ย Participates as a member of the plant leadership team by helping to achieve ongoing business goals and planning for future plant initiatives related to the Supply Chain

Major Challenges
ย  ย The major objectives of this position is to ensure part availability with minimum inventory investment, minimum transportation costs and efficient plant operations, which are usually in conflict.
ย  ย The fluctuating demands from the customer.

Decision Making Authority
ย  ย Makes decisions regarding inventory levels and sets goals for inventory and production.
ย  ย Approves changes to transportation costs based on continuous improvement.
ย  ย Recommends actions regarding business system improvements, supplier sourcing and logistic practices.
ย  ย Determines appropriate staffing levels and overtime for departments within the budget.

Requirements
ย  ย  Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management; Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management a plus
ย  ย Industry or other related experience: At least 5-10 years managerial work experience in a global Logistics or Supply Chain organization; Experience working with international automotive parts suppliers preferred
ย  ย Direct Reports: Position will require having up to 10 direct reports plus responsibility for the plant's greater Logistics organization
ย  ย Certifications: Any related management certification a plus
ย  ย Physical requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and sitting most of the time. Limited walking and standing
