Job description

Primary Position Responsibilities
  • Own Microsoft Fabric architecture for IRM (standards, design patterns, best practices) for scalable, maintainable, high-performing infrastructure.
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise risk data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric with medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) integrating multiple risk domains and enterprise systems.
  • Architect workflows using Fabric Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering (Spark notebooks), and Dataflows Gen2 to consolidate fragmented risk data (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, SAP, Workday, SuccessFactors, assurance platforms).
  • Create unified data models and Power BI semantic models for consistent, accurate cross-functional risk analytics.
  • Establish IRM data governance (quality, validation, monitoring, security, access controls).
  • Partner with Analytics Developers/Architects/Data Scientists to deliver datasets powering dashboards, reports, predictive models, and risk assessments.
  • Build automated/scalable Fabric pipelines and dataflows for real-time or near-real-time monitoring.
  • Implement data observability/monitoring to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Lead migration/integration initiatives for new risk platforms.
  • Respond to complex data requests; deliver clean, well-documented datasets for assessments, audits, investigations.
  • Maintain documentation standards (lineage, transformations, dictionaries, technical architecture).
Basic Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/Information Systems/Data Engineering or related.
  • 5+ years data engineering/ETL/data integration with increasing responsibility.
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Expert Microsoft Fabric (preferred) or Azure Data Factory/Synapse/Databricks; define architecture standards.
  • Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark; Spark notebook pipeline development; Git-based version control.
  • LLM/API workflow integration (RAG/embeddings/LLM gateways); interest in agentic tool-calling (e.g., MCP).
  • Power BI semantic modeling; dimensional modeling/star schema; medallion/layered lake patterns.
  • ServiceNow GRC or governance/risk/compliance systems; regulated industry experience.
  • Problem-solving, collaboration, data quality focus, self-directed.
