Job description

EILEEN FISHER creates simple, timeless shapes designed to work together effortlessly, season after season. We make our clothes to lastโ€”and then take them back to be reworn again or remade into entirely new designs. We believe in the fundamental potential of every personโ€”our employees, our customers and those who make our clothesโ€”and are committed to creating conditions that empower people. Itโ€™s all part of our commitment to doing business in a way that helps build a better industry. And a better future. EILEEN FISHER is one of the largest womenโ€™s fashion companies to be a certified B Corporation, which means we voluntarily meet high criteria for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Our values are a shared responsibility embodied in every position and are intended to be woven into all that we do; how we approach our work and how we interact with one another. Our values support our commitment to Diversity, Equity + Inclusion, and our commitment to Sustainability guides us to protect our limited natural resources, fight climate change, support human rights and social impact, and inspire the fashion industry to embrace circularity.

โ€ข We are united by purpose

The Merchandising team at EILEEN FISHER is responsible for translating the brand's design vision into a commercially viable, cohesive seasonal assortment. We work at the intersection of product, business, and brand โ€” partnering closely with Design, Planning, Sourcing, and our channel teams to bring the right product to the right customer at the right time. Our work is grounded in EF's values: intentional design, sustainability, and the belief that clothes should be made to last. This is a hybrid role in Irvington NY, 3 days in office with flexibility to be in person up to 5 days/wk. when required.

Position Summary:

As an Associate Merchandiser, this role will plan & create specific product categories and special packages, holding the process from concept to production. Throughout this process you will facilitate thoughtful, timely utilization of material inventory to expand business and drive revenue.

This is a true Merchandising role, not a Buying role, focused on specific categories, analyzing performance, shaping and operationalizing assortments.

Partner closely with Design, Global Sourcing, Planning, and both DTC + Wholesale teams to ensure category assortments support financial goals, margin targets, and brand intention. You will report to the Merchandising Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the assortment for an assigned category set: contribute to silhouette balance, fabrication direction, color, and pricing decisions in alignment with overall brand and merchandising strategies
  • Partner with Design on style development within assigned categories; bring a merchant perspective to line reviews, flagging commercial opportunities and gaps
  • Present category assortment recommendations at internal milestone meetings with a clear rationale tied to business performance, customer needs, and brand strategy
  • Participate in line editing decisions within categories in partnership with the Merchandising Manager
  • Analyze weekly, monthly, and seasonal selling performance for assigned categories; develop independent reads with proposed actions
  • Build and maintain competitive awareness for owned categories: proactively tracking relevant silhouettes, fabrications, and pricing positioning across the market
  • Contribute to monthly and seasonal hindsight and go-forward strategy with category-level perspective and data-supported recommendations
  • Work with sourcing and have working knowledge of material inventory to utilize for special packages
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Design, Production, Planning, and Sales as the merchant voice for assigned categories
  • Responsible for style set up, color allocation and sample order for assigned categories and maintaining all tools with accuracy
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Required Skills
Required Experience
Education:

BA/BS in Fashion Merchandising, Business or a related field or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

  • 5 years in womenโ€™s apparel merchandising with direct ownership of a category
  • Proven analytical ability with experience interpreting data, trends, forecasts and  margin metrics
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Exceptional organizational skills and follow-through, able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • High proficiency with merchandising systems and advanced Excel skills
The salary range for this role is $75,000 - 85,000/yr. dependent upon experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer competitive benefits:
โ— Corporate employees work 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
โ— Annual Company Bonus Plan
โ— 401(K)
โ— Employee Stock Ownership Plan
โ— Generous Paid Time Off (including holidays & year-end closure, personal observance days, sick/personal)
โ— Comprehensive Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision, FSA & HSA, life ins, etc.)
โ— Flexible Reimbursement Program (education, PTO related expenses, spa services, etc.)
โ— Commitment to wellbeing activities
โ— Generous Clothing Allowance and employee discount

We are committed to recruiting, hiring, training and promoting qualified people of all backgrounds, and make all employment decisions without regard to any protected status.
