Typically, they work under the supervision of a Sourcing Manager and collaborate with various departments to support cost-effective and efficient sourcing strategies. Their role is crucial in maintaining supply chain stability and quality while optimizing costs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate sourcing manager?

To thrive as an Associate Sourcing Manager, you need expertise in procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and data analysis, often supported by a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field. Familiarity with sourcing software (such as SAP Ariba or Coupa), contract management systems, and sometimes certifications like CPSM or CSCP are typical technical requirements. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills help you build effective partnerships and navigate complex supply chains.
