Job Title:  Sourcing Engineer

SUMMARY: Lincoln Industries is the largest most diverse privately-held metal finishing company in North America. As part of supporting our growth strategy, we have needs for talented individuals to help support our global supply base capabilities with our Strategic Sourcing Team in Lincoln, NE.

WAGE TYPE:  Salaried Exempt

FLSA Exemption:  Administrative Exemption

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:  As part of the Lincoln Industries’ Strategic Sourcing Team, candidates perform the following to support our growth strategy:

  • Support company growth by quoting projects with current strategic suppliers in a variety of manufacturing categories (stampings, castings, coatings, polishing, forgings, tube, fabrication and raw materials)
  • Analyze technical prints and make suggestions for increasing manufacturability and decreasing costs
  • Evaluate and compare supplier quotes based on multiple factors and provide recommendations to the Sales team
  • Assist cross-functional teams on project implementation as the key contact for suppliers
  • Develop relationships with strategic suppliers via email, phone calls and on-site visits
  • Drive cost savings improving manufacturability of products, creating economies of scale and optimizing supply-chains
  • Become the voice of the suppliers to internal customers discussing both technical and general topics
  • Lead teams to solve supplier challenges that are outside of day-to-day items
  • Build relationships between Lincoln Industries’ departments (Account Managers, Supplier Quality, Integration Engineering, Planning, IT, Sales, Accounting) to address and resolve critical issues related to customer needs and supplier performance
  • Manage supplier scorecards for assigned key suppliers

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

QUALIFICATIONS:  We are looking for strong candidates with the following credentials.  Experience may be substituted for educational requirements as outlined below:

Education and/or Experience:

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering or procurement experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read prints and CAD files for a variety of manufacturing methods.
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements and details.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Ability to be both assertive and fair when working with suppliers.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 20%, domestic and international travel as-needed.
