Job description

Duties

Work collaboratively with business analysts, team leads and development team. Act as a contributor in developing scalable and resilient hybrid and Cloud-based data solutions supporting critical financial market clearing and risk activities. Collaborate with other developers, architects and product owners to support enterprise transformation into a data-driven organization. Design and implement efficient database access strategies for high-throughput applications by selectively bypassing ORM frameworks and executing optimized SQL queries. Support the application development of big data application for business requirements in agreed architecture framework and Agile environment. Develop scalable microservices and RESTful APIs for data-intensive applications using Java and Spring Boot with MongoDB or Postgres. Thoroughly analyze requirements, develop, test, and document software quality to ensure proper implementation. Design and optimize low-latency, event-driven distributed systems to handle high-throughput workloads using Spring Batch and Kafka. Design and deploy distributed realtime applications on AWS cloud to achieve high throughput and cost efficiency using EC2 and Auto Scaling Groups. Follow agreed upon SDLC procedures to ensure that all information system products and services meet: both explicit and implicit quality standards, end-user functional requirements, architectural standards, performance requirements, audit requirements, security rules are upheld, and external facing reporting is properly represented. Perform application and project risk analysis and recommend quality improvements. Assist Production Support by providing advice on system functionality and fixes. Communicate in a clear and concise manner all time delays or defects in the software immediately to appropriate team members and management. Utilize experience with resolving security vulnerabilities.

Up to 40% telecommuting permitted.

Education & Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related and three (3) years of experience as a software developer, systems engineer, research assistant, or related.

Special Skills Required

  • 2) develop scalable microservices and RESTful APIs for data-intensive applications using Java and Spring Boot with MongoDB or Postgres;

Salary $120,300-$151,900

Compensation

The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers.
