The Software Engineer II (SE II) role is a fully productive, professional engineer responsible for designing, building, and delivering software solutions with independent ownership and execution accountability. This role contributes directly to platform development by building backend services, APIs, and system components that support scalable, high-performing digital experiences.

  • Contributes to platform consistency, reuse, and performance across engineering teams
  • Supports the transition to scalable, API-driven services and shared platform capabilities
  • Drives adoption of shared platform capabilities through consistent, reusable service development

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs aligned to platform architecture
  • Own end-to-end delivery of features, from design through deployment and support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
  • Apply testing, performance optimization, and secure coding practices
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and system reliability improvements
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver solutions
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution approaches
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers (including SE I)
  • Design components and services within established architecture, making independent technical decisions within defined patterns

Education, Certification and Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience
