Founded in 2015, Immuta is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and government agencies worldwide and operates as a hybrid workplace globally.

Technology partners include Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Starburst.

Immuta has been recognized by Forbes as a top American startup employer, by Inc. Magazine and BuiltIn as one of the best workplaces, and by Fast Company as one of the top 50 most innovative companies.

$267 million in total funding. Lead investors include NightDragon, Snowflake, and Databricks, along with additional funding from ServiceNow, Citi Ventures, Dell Technologies Capital, DFJ Growth, IAG, Intel Capital, March Capital, Okta Ventures, StepStone, Ten Eleven Ventures, and Wipro Ventures.

A hybrid workplace with offices in Boston, MA; Columbus, Ohio; College Park, Maryland.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Immuta’s Request app Team builds the experiences and services that help enterprise customers discover, request, and provision access to data across complex data ecosystems. We combine intuitive user experiences with secure, scalable engineering to make data access more efficient, transparent, and trustworthy. We work across frontend and backend technologies and partner closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to deliver reliable workflows that help organizations unlock the value of their data responsibly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Software Engineer II on the Request App Team, you’ll independently deliver well‑scoped, moderately complex features and project work that improves the ability to curate complex approval workflows that enable data consumers to discover and request access to the data they need. You’ll contribute to technical design discussions, work within established engineering direction, and collaborate across disciplines to build solutions that are intuitive, secure, and maintainable. This is an individual‑contributor role for an engineer who can execute reliably, seek clarification when ambiguity affects the work, incorporate feedback, and grow their technical judgment through increasingly complex assignments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and implement backend services and APIs using TypeScript/NestJS and related technologies.
  • Build frontend features in Angular and integrate them with shared design-system components.
  • Own defined features, components, services, or moderately complex project workstreams from technical design through deployment and follow‑up improvements.
  • Develop workflow‑driven functionality that helps users discover data, request access, and move through approval processes.
  • Improve performance and scalability by optimizing application code, database queries, and service interactions.
  • Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to reliable, maintainable software.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and engineers to clarify requirements and translate customer needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, documentation, CI/CD improvements, and developer‑experience initiatives.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Professional Experience: Typically 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience delivering production software; demonstrated capability is more important than tenure alone.
  • Frontend Development: Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript and experience with Angular, React, or a comparable modern frontend framework.
  • Backend Engineering: Experience building APIs and services with NestJS, Node.js, or a comparable backend framework.
  • Data & Systems: Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and a working understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and performance optimization.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Software Quality: Experience writing automated tests, participating in code reviews, and applying sound software design and maintainability practices.
  • Collaboration: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to share progress, ask effective questions, incorporate feedback, and work with Product, Design, and Engineering partners.
  • Ownership & Growth: Reliable follow‑through on assigned work, appropriate escalation of blockers, curiosity, and a willingness to develop stronger technical judgment over time
Benefits

At Immuta, our goal is to help bridge the gap between personal and professional growth, so that our team members can be well and thrive personally and professionally. After all, great professional success stories rarely happen without great personal success stories!

  • 100% employer paid Healthcare (Medical, Dental, Vision) premiums for you and your dependents (including Domestic Partners)
  • Stock Options
  • Paid parental leave (Both Maternity and Paternity)
  • Unlimited Paid time off (U.S. based positions)
  • Learning and Development Resources

Immuta provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, age, disability (including disability due to pregnancy) or genetics, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
