POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Health Digital is looking for hands-on, passionate people who want to join a high energy and growing team to make a difference in customers' lives and who want to be on the forefront of digital innovation that aims to reinvent what a pharmacy and a health care company can be in the digital world. Currently, we are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who as both a Technical Lead and Individual Contributor will help build our next-generation platform to promote the delivery of use cases into products focused on helping people live healthier lives. This Staff Software Development Engineer, among other responsibilities, will create Proof of Concepts that will improve projects that will address our customer challenges. Furthermore, the Staff Engineer role includes closely working with a team of engineers to drive delivery excellence, partner with business and other IT leaders to build digital assets, provide expert level support to resolve complex issues and provide RCA, identify gaps in systems in current digital eco system and provide solutions to enhance overall performance.

Expectations for the Role

  • Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers
  • Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives
  • Participate in code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Contribute to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
  • Participate in knowledge sharing activities, such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops, to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team
  • Work with other developers and team members to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them improve their technical skills and grow professionally

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working with enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed software design environment
  • 5+ years of Java development experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and solutions with cloud computing technologies
  • 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs
  • 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation
  • 3+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment
  • 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Health and wellness domain experience
  • Hands on experience working as full stack development when needed AngularJS, JavaScript, Oracle and other modern databases like NOSQL
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and techniques, including but not limited to: Natural Language Processing(NLP), Text generation and summarization, Conversational AI and chatbots
  • Hands on experience developing user-facing features and/or applications
  • Ability to create and execute on roadmaps that consider both progress and innovation as well as the need to scale reliably
  • Ability to learn/work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $284,280.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
