Job description

Software Engineer Associate – Sales & Marketing Technology

The Software Engineer Associate – Sales & Marketing Technology is an entry-level engineering role focused on supporting and maintaining production systems that enable Sales and Marketing capabilities across the organization.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support day-to-day production operations, including monitoring system health, responding to incidents, and coordinating issue resolution with guidance from senior engineers and architects. This role also contributes hands-on development work to improve reliability, reduce recurring issues, and build foundational technical skills.

This position is well suited for an engineer early in their career who is eager to learn enterprise systems, grow technical ownership skills, and develop confidence supporting production environments.

This role reports to the IT Manager – Software Engineering.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, Missouri office.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Support production systems across the Sales & Marketing Technology stack by responding to incidents, service requests, and operational issues.
  • Serve as the first point of coordination for incoming issues, helping triage and route items to the appropriate team or partner.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and work under the guidance of senior engineers to drive incidents to resolution.
  • Provide timely updates during incidents and assist with post-incident documentation and follow-ups.
  • Help maintain and improve runbooks, support documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor system behavior, alerts, and recurring issues to help identify potential risks or degradation.
  • Assist with validating releases and changes to ensure systems are ready to support production use.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis activities and help implement fixes that prevent repeat issues.
  • Learn and apply best practices related to system reliability, monitoring, and supportability.
  • Develop and maintain small enhancements or fixes that improve system reliability, performance, or supportability.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities with guidance from the team.
  • Build familiarity with APIs, integrations, and enterprise application patterns.
  • Grow understanding of the owned technology stack and how systems interact end-to-end.
  • Work closely with product owners, engineers, and support partners to understand issues and priorities.
  • Ask questions, seek feedback, and actively learn from teammates.
  • Contribute positively to team rituals such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information system, finance or business or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 0–3 years of professional software development or technical support experience.
  • A foundational understanding of software engineering concepts and problem solving.
  • Interest in learning how to support and troubleshoot production systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, ask questions, and follow established processes.
  • Willingness to support production systems and occasionally respond to urgent issues.

Additional Assets (Preferred)
