Job description

Job Duties

Under broad direction, designs, codes, tests, trouble-shoots and documents engineering systems applications. Develops test strategies used in the automated regression testing of these systems. Follows secure coding practices, performs triaging of security issues, and implements fixes to deliver secure applications. Familiar with common software vulnerabilities and leading practices to mitigate. Works on large scale, complex projects. Proactively identifies areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and proposes new solutions. Develops assignments and schedules. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, including software development experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build scalable, performant, and cost-effective full stack solutions using Angular, Node.js, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Develop and maintain responsive web applications and backend services with RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Ensure applications are secure, cloud-ready (Azure/AWS), and optimized for performance.
  • Implement automated testing and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and Jenkins.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow Agile practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and support their growth while transitioning into a team lead role.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Product Owner to align development with product goals.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Minimum 7+ years of software development experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, node.js, HTML5 and, CSS/SASS.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), microservices architecture, API integration and system design is required.
  • Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB) is required.
  • Familiarity with C# or Python is preferred.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.
  • Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Frontend: Angular (v12–16+ required), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS.
  • Backend: Node.js (required), C# or Python (preferred), Express, RESTful APIs.
  • Testing: JEST, Jasmine, Cypress, Protractor.
  • DevOps: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Ansible.
  • Cloud Platrorms: Azure, AWS.
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra.
