Job description

Job Summary

NetApp's Engineering Tools and Services (ETS) organization is responsible for deployment and operation of collaborative development tools. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our globally distributed team that supports a range of tools to serve the needs and improve the efficiency of our developers at NetApp.

Responsibilities
As a DevOps engineer, you can expect your day-to-day responsibilities to include:

  • Support services, tools, modules, and applications to improve the quality of life for software development engineers and operations engineers
  • Work across different tools and programs such as source code management, project/defect tracking, code security/signing, binary artifact repositories/mirrors and collaboration tools supporting developers across NetApp
  • Promote our DevOps best practices by collaborating with developers/managers during various phases of development
  • Implement tooling and integrations that improve security posture of platform and our customers/teams
  • Managing stake holders and external interfaces
  • Incident management and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate across time zones (San Jose, RTP, Bengaluru) teams, and business functions as needed for team projects
Job Requirements

You will need to have hands-on experience, or certifications, in the following:

  • Experience working on Linux based infrastructure
  • Programming experience: Python, Go, Java, Bash shell scripting
  • Administrative experience with any DevOps tools
  • Working knowledge of databases - MySQL/PostgreSQL/Mongo
  • Experience working with tools like JFrog Artifcatory
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence
  • Source code management tools such as GitHub/Bitbucket
  • Log ingest and dashboarding tools like Splunk, logscale
  • Understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle and system security best practices
  • Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting
Education
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience is required.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 113,050 - 168,300 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
