Location: Full-time onsite in Georgetown, TX 78628 (no remote work)
Salary: $120,000-$140,000 per year (depending on verifiable experience and skill set)

About the Role
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to build, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks and tools that ensure the reliability, quality, and performance of our mission-critical platform. This role is key to delivering excellence in a product that protects children on school buses every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks (UI, API, integration, performance, and regression)
  • Build tools and infrastructure to increase test coverage, efficiency, and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to shift quality left and prevent defects
  • Identify, report, and help resolve complex product issues
  • Create and maintain test data, environments, and CI/CD testing pipelines
  • Perform manual exploratory testing when needed
  • Contribute to overall product quality strategy and continuous improvement
  • Document test processes and results clearly

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer with strong testing focus
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript preferred)
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of API testing, databases, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Georgetown, TX area
