ABOUT US:
Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Senior Associate, Analytics Software Developer to join the technology team and support one of our investment teams from a technology perspective. This role will focus on building robust, high-quality, scalable applications and analytics solutions that support Bayview's trading, research, valuation, and data-driven decision-making functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, full-stack developer with experience delivering enterprise applications and working with financial and analytical data. This role will partner with business users and other IT teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, implement and deliver applications, and provide ongoing production support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain full-stack web applications and analytics solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with business users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement features that support trading, research, valuation, and analytics workflows.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across multiple layers of the technology stack.
  • Implement cloud-based solutions for scalable, reliable, and secure applications.
  • Create and manage RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with front-end applications and internal data services.
  • Design, implement, and optimize databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and auditability.
  • Work with modern front-end frameworks to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces for internal business and analytics applications.
  • Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable releases.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues and stable production support.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, financial technology developments, and software engineering best practices to continuously improve application quality and development processes.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of industry experience

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record of managing risk technology development resources and solving problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with large datasets, including data cleaning and verification using SQL, Excel and/or Python
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, C#, or Python, and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot for Java, .NET Core for C#, Django/Flask for Python).
  • Front-end development experience with JavaScript and at least one modern front-end framework, such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Solid experience with databases, including relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud-native services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Version control proficiency, primarily with Git, including branching, merging, and managing pull requests.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, unit testing, API design, and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working with financial, valuation, or analytics-related applications and datasets is strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of API design and integration, including working with third-party services and internal enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with project management tools like Jira.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, or AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting trading, research, portfolio analytics, valuation, or operations workflows.
  • Familiarity with financial data domains such as positions, pricing, cashflows, valuation, and risk analytics.
  • Experience in asset management, capital markets, fixed income, structured products, mortgage finance, or consumer credit environments.

  • This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite) in our New York City office.
  • Base compensation is expected to be $140,000-$170,000 with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation.
