Job description

A rapidly growing robotics manufacturer expanding its U.S. operations and seeking a Robotics Application Engineer to support customers across North America. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys hands-on robotics, customer interaction, troubleshooting, and travel. The position offers significant growth potential into senior field engineering and technical leadership roles.

Position Overview

As a Robotics Application Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical resource for customers utilizing collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), dual-arm robotic systems, and quadruped robots. You will be responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, training, and ongoing technical support while collaborating closely with engineering teams and customers.

This role combines field service, applications engineering, and customer support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with advanced robotic technologies in real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission robotic systems at customer facilities
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, and basic software-related issues
  • Provide end-user training on robot operation, programming, and maintenance
  • Support after-sales service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and replacement of components
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and engineering teams to resolve complex issues
  • Document field activities, service reports, and technical findings
  • Assist with customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, and application evaluations
  • Support deployment of robotic solutions across a variety of industries and applications
  • Travel extensively throughout the United States to support customer installations and service needs

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related technical discipline; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered
  • Understanding of robotic and mechatronic systems, including servo motors, motion control, reducers, and articulated robot architectures
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Basic programming experience with Python and/or C++
  • Hands-on experience programming or teaching industrial robots or collaborative robots (Universal Robots, FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Doosan, or similar)
  • Mechanical assembly and electrical wiring experience
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60%
  • Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting robotic mechanical systems, precision assemblies, or motion control equipment
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, servo drives, and motor controls
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, or PROFINET
  • Experience with offline robot programming software such as RoboDK, RobotStudio, RoboGuide, or similar tools
  • PLC programming and integration experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, Docker, and Git
  • Previous experience supporting robotic systems in manufacturing or production environments
  • Prior Field Service Engineer or Applications Engineer experience within robotics, automation, or industrial equipment industries
  • Korean language skills are a plus

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join a fast-growing robotics organization during a major U.S. expansion phase
  • Work with a broad portfolio of advanced robotic technologies, including collaborative robots, mobile robots, dual-arm systems, and quadruped robots
  • Gain direct exposure to cutting-edge automation applications across multiple industries
  • Clear career advancement path into senior applications engineering, field engineering, or solutions engineering roles
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing North American operation
