Job description

BayCare is currently in search of our newest Team Member who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. We are looking for an individual seeking a career opportunity with one of the largest employers within the Tampa Bay area.
Position Details:
  • Location: Remote (must reside in Florida) -Following the required onsite training below
  • Status: Full time
  • Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Days: Monday through Friday

This Central Authorization Specialist II opportunity is a full-time remote (following the below onsite training) position. Team members must reside in Florida.
This role requires onsite training in Clearwater, FL for 5 business days. The schedule is M-F 8:00AM - 4:30PM (after training, the team member will work the hours listed above)
Responsibilities:
The Central Authorization Specialist II is responsible for verifying health insurance information and obtaining authorizations, pre-certifications, and/or referrals for inpatient, observation and scheduled outpatient elective services. Assist patients, clinical teams, physicians and their staff, the BayCare central business office, and denials management with information and process details for timely turnaround for authorizations. Utilize electronic scheduling/registration/financial systems, payer's websites, and recorded calls to validate health coverage and benefits in processing approval for medical services. Maintain proper documentation in Soarian or GE systems. Work closely with Managed Care and understands health insurances rule sets, manuals, and contract language.

Experience
  • Required - 2 years of Insurance Verification and Authorization Retrieval or Referrals
  • Required - 1 year of Health Insurance Website experience
  • Preferred - 1 year of Healthcare Business Office and /or Managed Care experience
