Job description

We are assisting a fast growing, investment manager with more than $2 billion in assets under management dedicated to making the world a better place. Founded by veterans of some of America's most prominent companies in their industry.

We are looking for a sharp, detail oriented Associate to join our Finance team and play a key role in the accounting and financial operations of our closed ended private fund structures.

Job Description:

Fund Accounting & Quarterly Close (approx. 60% of time)

  • Execute all quarterly close accounting: journal entries, cash reconciliations, capital account allocations, and fee calculations
  • Advise the third-party fund administrator on GAAP purchase and sale accounting
  • Review quarter-end investor statements and unaudited financial statements in coordination with the fund administrator
  • Manage the ongoing relationship with the external fund administrator

    Year-End Audit (approx. 30% of time)

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end audited financial statements
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit completion

    Capital Activity & Compliance (approx. 10% of time)

  • Manage capital calls and capital distributions for assigned funds
  • Assist with data preparation for regulatory filings and annual/quarterly tax reporting
  • Support ad hoc projects and cross-team initiatives as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • CPA designation required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3–4 years of accounting experience in private or public accounting, with a focus on private equity or hedge fund clients
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating year-end financial statement audits with external auditors
  • Prior experience working with a third-party fund administrator
  • Working knowledge of waterfall calculations, capital calls, and capital distributions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills required
  • Preferred: experience with credit, asset-backed securities, consumer loans, or securitizations
