Job description

Job Highlights
  • Work closely with the project manager, scientists, and research associates in a collaborative, team-driven environment to support customer and internal research projects. Responsibilities include evaluating and identifying effective microbial control solutions; developing and implementing new methods and assays; and contributing to product discovery, development, registration, commercialization, and intellectual property protection
  • Perform microbiology tests and studies within Energy and Water applications, including but not limited to preparation of media and buffers; microbial culture preparation and maintenance; microbial contamination assessment; microorganism isolation and identification; antimicrobial efficacy evaluation; DNA extraction, quantification, and analyses
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to conduct laboratory testing; accurately generate, document, and analyze data; and write timely technical reports
  • Effectively manage time across multiple projects, demonstrating a proactive approach and ensuring timely delivery of results
  • Write SOP and train new and existing personnel on standard procedures and equipment use
  • Adhere to all safety policies and regulations, playing an important role in maintaining a safe laboratory environment

Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Biology related scientific field (Microbiology preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in research and/or product development environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and keen attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills; capable of managing multiple tasks and delivering timely and high-quality results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate both within the team and across functions
