OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross has an excellent career opportunity for pharmacist, nurse, or other clinical healthcare professional to apply pharmaceutical knowledge and skills to a variety of processes we have in place to meet the needs of our customers. This position will appeal to motivated and enthusiastic team players who are looking for different ways to apply their superior communication and organizational skills in a non-traditional clinical setting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for preparing summaries of select drug product submissions. These summaries will provide a clinical and economic review of submitted drug products. Reviews will provide comparative insight to currently listed drug products.

  • On-going interaction and liaison duties with government and industry stakeholders.

  • Responsible for providing scientific reviews that can be specific to drug classes or medical indication.

  • Completing projects to aid in formulary management.

  • Assisting with all activities required to support the Alberta Health Expert Committee on Drug Evaluation and Therapeutics.

  • Experience in building strong partnerships while maintaining a high level of pharmaceutical expertise.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing or equivalent healthcare profession.

  • Minimum three years' experience in a clinical practice and a license to practice in Alberta with their respective College.

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals and a good understanding of study methodologies.

  • Knowledge in the areas of pharmaco-economic and pharmaco-epidemiologic assessment would be an asset.

  • Strong clinical and presentation skills with a commitment to delivering a quality customer experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required. Microsoft Access would be an asset.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the desire for continuous learning.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
