Job Overview

In collaboration with senior laboratory members execute technical work requiring knowledge in endotoxin detection. Associate Scientist 2s will contribute to the development, manufacture and testing of Microbial Solutions’ product lines. Responsible for authoring protocols, performing experiments, analysing results, along with timely and accurate documentation of experimental results. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Author and execute protocols of routine and non-routine experiments.
•    Organize and summarize data using scientific and statistical techniques.
•    Assist in data analysis and presenting results to the team.
•    Assists in the development of new technologies, troubleshooting, CAPA investigations, root cause analyses, and pilot batch manufacturing in the fields of:
           o    LAL (Limulus Amebocyte Lysate)
           o    PTS
           o    Recombinant proenzymes
           o    Biochemistry
           o    Microbiology
•    Participate in new product transfer from R&D to Manufacturing, including:
           o    Pilot batch manufacturing
           o    Stability / equivalency studies
           o    Development of in-process and QC test methods and specifications
•    Fully capable of operating all laboratory equipment and software with demonstrated proficiency.
•    Routine general lab work (solution preparation, autoclaving and depyroginating lab ware, keeping bench clean, cleaning of objects used for experiments and disposal of waste)
•    Assist in ordering laboratory consumables, preparation of laboratory consumables, as well as cleaning of the laboratory.
•    Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment.
•    Ensure proficiency and compliance with protocols and all applicable SOPs.
•    Responsible for documentation as required by FDA, company policy and cGMP.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related discipline, with at least 1 year of related experience in a laboratory.

Equipment & Software

•    General laboratory equipment (i.e. balances, pH meters, laminar flow hoods, pipettes, plate readers, etc.)
•    Well versed in CRL laboratory equipment and software including but not limited to: Endoscan V, BioTek plate readers, microfluidic cartridge readers.
Specific Skills 
•    Perform endotoxin detection testing using kinetic, turbidimetric and multifluidic cartridges.
Job Specific Requirements
•    Problem solving.

The pay range for this position is $79,000 to $85,000.  Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including but not limited to, experience, skills, education and location.
