What is an associate sales trader?

An Associate Sales Trader is a financial professional who acts as an intermediary between clients and traders, helping to execute buy and sell orders for securities. They work closely with institutional clients, providing market insights, trade ideas, and ensuring smooth execution of trades. Their role often involves monitoring market trends, managing client relationships, and collaborating with other trading desks to ensure best execution. Your responsibilities often include relaying market information, executing trades on behalf of clients, and ensuring that client orders are handled accurately and efficiently. Collaboration is essential: you'll work closely with sales professionals to understand client objectives and with traders to ensure optimal execution and pricing. This teamwork-driven environment helps you build industry relationships and develop a well-rounded skill set, which can open doors to more senior roles in sales, trading, or relationship management.
