Position Summary

The Sales Operations Specialist is a key member of the Summit Equipment Distribution corporate team, providing administrative, analytical, and operational support to the Sales and Operations organizations across Summit's growing network of municipal and industrial equipment dealerships.

The position supports sales operations while providing administrative and reporting support for parts, accessories, rental, and other aftermarket activities. Responsibilities include CRM and ERP administration, sales and inventory reporting, equipment and parts availability, quotation support, municipal purchasing programs, and coordination with dealerships, manufacturers, and suppliers.

The position reports to the Vice President of Sales and works closely with Operations leadership on aftermarket-related activities.

Sales Support & Administration
  • Support sales teams across Summit's member dealerships with quotations, pricing, proposals, equipment specifications, and sales documentation.
  • Coordinate sales administration between dealership sales teams, Operations Managers, manufacturers, suppliers, and corporate leadership.
  • Maintain accurate opportunities, bookings, backlog, and related information in CRM and ERP systems.
  • Assist with sales, booking, backlog, and forecast reporting.
  • Support manufacturer programs, product launches, and sales initiatives.
Equipment, Parts & Accessories
  • Maintain visibility of equipment, parts, and accessories inventory across the Summit dealer network.
  • Support inventory transfers, equipment allocation, and inventory reporting.
  • Assist with parts and accessories quotations, pricing, product information, and sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Parts personnel regarding availability, inventory, and aftermarket opportunities.
  • Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation as needed.
Municipal Purchasing
  • Support municipal purchasing programs, including Sourcewell, state purchasing contracts, cooperative purchasing organizations, and other public procurement programs.
  • Assist with contract pricing, bid documentation, and purchasing requirements.
  • Monitor purchasing opportunities and contract renewal schedules.
Manufacturer & Supplier Coordination
  • Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers regarding pricing, specifications, lead times, production schedules, parts, accessories, and product availability.
  • Coordinate information between manufacturers, corporate leadership, and member dealerships.
Rental & Aftermarket Support
  • Provide administrative support for rental activities across the Summit dealer network.
  • Maintain rental inventory information and reporting.
  • Support Operations leadership with reporting and administrative activities related to parts, accessories, rental, and other aftermarket initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Service, Parts, Marketing, Finance, and corporate leadership.
  • Promote consistent reporting, data accuracy, and administrative practices across Summit dealerships.
  • Support initiatives that improve sales execution, inventory visibility, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in sales support, sales operations, dealership administration, equipment distribution, or a related field.
  • Heavy equipment, municipal equipment, truck equipment, industrial equipment, or construction equipment experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of equipment parts and accessories preferred.
  • Familiarity with Sourcewell and other municipal purchasing programs is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy.
Reporting & Working Relationships

Reports To: Vice President of Sales

Works Closely With: Operations Leadership, Operations Managers, Sales Teams, Parts, Service, Marketing, Finance, manufacturers, and suppliers.

The position provides support to both Sales and Operations but does not have direct responsibility for sales strategy, sales team management, or aftermarket department management.
