Job Description Summary
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing operations. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting materials throughout the facility to ensure uninterrupted production. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and meeting customer delivery requirements.
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate forklifts in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Supply production lines with materials according to production schedules.
  • Stage materials for production, shipping, and storage.
  • Verify material quantities, labels, and locations before movement.
  • Utilize RF scanners, barcode systems, or warehouse management systems to complete inventory transactions.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and company policies.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must meet vision and physical requirements necessary for safe forklift operation.
Required Skills and Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners or inventory systems preferred.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, work orders, and inventory labels.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
