JOB SUMMARY
Epiq Solutions is seeking a full-time Repair Technician with at least five years of hands-on experience to join our team developing both custom and commercial wireless communications systems. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate and repair Epiq Solutions' wireless communications products (board level repair). The ideal candidate would have previous experience supporting an electronics production environment, executing test procedures, testing wireless devices using RF test equipment, removing faulty components and solder replacement components, and retest. Specific job tasks include the following:
  • Utilize production test procedures for Epiq's products to troubleshoot and repair, modules, and printed circuit boards. (Eighty percent Benchwork).
  • Read and understand PCB layout images, component data sheets and rework instructions.
  • Document the results of repairs of defective modules and printed circuit boards. (Ten percent documenting the results of repairs).
  • Observe electrical products handling safety codes and regulations.

Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of five years of experience with board level troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, PCB layout, and assembly documents for electronic printed circuit boards.
  • Strong surface mount soldering skills of electrical components on various types of circuit boards and electronic assemblies including double or multi-layer electronic circuit boards.
  • Self-motivated personality and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Comfortable soldering both through-hole and SMT devices, including small 0201 parts and BGAs.
  • Ability to multitask between two or more projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience testing wireless communication devices preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification preferred.
