Job description

We are hiring an Application Solutions Manager, Facets and ITS Operations, at BCBST!

In this highly visible leadership role, you will lead the teams responsible for BCBST's two core healthcare processing platforms: Facets and BlueCard ITS/Blue2. You will oversee multiple teams supporting Facets and BlueCard operations while leading a talented organization of experienced associates. Your focus will be ensuring operational excellence, maintaining the stability of critical production systems, and shaping the future-state vision for the platforms, teams, and technologies that support BCBST's core business operations. You will play a key role in advancing strategic modernization initiatives for both Facets and BlueCard, while partnering closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and long-term sustainability.

To be successful in this role, in addition to the core job requirements, you'll bring stronghealthcare payer operationsknowledge,application support leadershipexperience, and theability to lead large-scale technology transformation initiatives. You will be a strong candidate for this role if you have experience leading complex application support organizations, managing vendor relationships, driving modernization programs, and developing high-performing teams. Experience with Facets, Cognizant/TriZetto solutions, and the BlueCross BlueShield Association is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also bring strong leadership capabilities related to succession planning, organizational development, and supporting highly experienced technical teams through periods of change and transformation.

Note:

  • This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office.

  • Limited travel is required to the Chattanooga, TN office, approximately once per quarter.

  • Candidates must be available to work Eastern Time business hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and maintaining adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Overseeing multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs.
  • Maximizing staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.
  • Analyzing applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meeting business needs and specifications.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 8 years - Extensive systems analysis, design and project management experience required.
  • 3 years - Management and/or leadership experience required

Skills\Certifications

  • Proven technical background with a history of relational database and data warehousing technologies.
  • Ability to design and develop using service oriented architecture and object oriented architecture design patterns
  • Proven skill with information technology in use at BCBST is required
  • Ability to conceive and deliver innovative solutions
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and ability to perform non-routine analytical tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, with strong abilities in relationship management
