Job Description

Wealth Planning Associate, RBC Advantage

The Opportunity

As a Wealth Planning Associate supporting RBC Advantage, you will join a developmental wealth planning role designed to build your technical planning knowledge, client-service skills, and confidence in supporting Financial Advisors and clients.

This role is ideal for someone early in their financial planning or wealth management career who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, highly organized, and interested in building a long-term career in financial advice. You will receive hands-on training in RBC's goals-based wealth planning methodology, planning tools, client-service standards, and advisor support model.

Working under the guidance of experienced wealth planning professionals, Financial Advisors, and leaders within the RBC Advantage team, you will support the development and delivery of financial plans for clients and prospects. You will help gather information, organize planning data, prepare client materials, assist with MoneyGuidePro inputs, and support Financial Advisors through the planning process.

This is a client-facing support role with strong developmental emphasis. While you will gain meaningful exposure to client conversations and comprehensive planning work, this is not a traditional sales role and does not carry a direct business development expectation.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As a Wealth Planning Associate supporting RBC Advantage, you will assist Financial Advisors and planning partners with a range of paraplanning and client-service responsibilities, including:

Supporting pre-client meeting preparation, including agendas, planning summaries, and client materials

Gathering and organizing client information needed for financial plan construction

Assisting with data input, reconciliation, and analysis in MoneyGuidePro and related planning tools

Preparing financial planning analyses and supporting materials for clients and prospects

Helping prepare retirement, education funding, estate planning, insurance, risk management, and goals-based planning scenarios

Supporting post-meeting follow-up, including meeting notes, action items, and implementation tracking

Assisting clients and advisors with online client portals and planning technology

Coordinating with Financial Advisors, planning partners, and internal teams to help move planning work forward

Participating in training, case studies, planning reviews, team meetings, and developmental assignments

Supporting RBC Advantage planning initiatives, projects, and workflow improvements as needed

Delivering accurate, timely, and professional work with a strong focus on follow-through and client service

Development and Training

This role is designed to help you build the foundation for a successful career in wealth planning and financial advice. Through formal training, hands-on experience, and day-to-day coaching, you will develop skills in:

RBC's goals-based wealth planning methodology

MoneyGuidePro and related planning tools

Client data gathering and plan construction

Financial planning concepts and analysis

Advisor and client meeting preparation

Client communication and service standards

Planning workflow management and prioritization

Working effectively across teams in a fast-paced wealth management environment

Over time, you will be expected to take on increasing responsibility, build confidence in planning conversations, and develop the judgment needed to support Financial Advisors and clients more independently.
