Principal Associate, Quantitative Analysis positions offered by Capital One, National Association (McLean, Virginia). Partner with the various lines of business to enhance modeling and analytical framework. Work across Capital One entities to create novel analytical solutions to the challenging business problems. Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods and automation solutions to improve business performance and process efficiencies. Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team to build cloud based solutions grounded in data. Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods or machine learning to improve business performance. Apply deep expertise in econometric, statistical and machine learning methods to generate critical insights and decision frameworks for our business and customers. Provide technical guidance to business leadership. Communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely to individuals from various backgrounds.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a master's or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 3 years of experience in quantitative analytics.

Requires 3 years of experience in:

  • Statistical or econometric modeling;

  • Linear and logistic regression;

  • Programming in R, Python, or SQL; and

  • Presenting statistical concepts and research results to a non-statistical audience.

Requires 3 years of experience in at least 3 of the following skills:

  • Survival analysis modeling;

  • Time-series analysis;

  • Panel data analysis (longitudinal data or cross-sectional time-series data);

  • Cross-sectional data analysis;

  • Machine Learning;

  • Analysis and management of large datasets (at least 1 million records).

In lieu of a master's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a PhD or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and demonstrated proficiency in the skillsets above.

Position reports to McLean, VA office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.

Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA

We are offering a salary of $143,250 to $218,000 per year for Principal Associate, Quantitative Analysis

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
