Job description

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Highway/Traffic department in Boston, MA.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee roadway and highway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines including civil/site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams
  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers
  • Attend client meetings and coordinate with public agencies including state agencies, counties, and municipalities
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal design standards and procedures
  • Support proposal preparation and business development efforts as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 4-8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts
  • Experience working on county and/or municipal projects, including those that are state or federally funded
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO and MassDOT roadway design standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation
