Here's how a Project Engineer for PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. within Civil East contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Performs and applies quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress, reporting, and change management.  
  • Support day-to-day execution of water and wastewater construction projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, and underground utilities
  • Assist with project cost controls, including quantity tracking, pay applications, change management, and forecasting
  • Manage and track submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and document control
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract requirements to support field operations
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors.
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules and look-ahead planning
  • Assist with procurement, subcontract administration, and buyout activities
  • Support quality control documentation and compliance requirements
  • Promote and support jobsite safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to professional owner relationships
  • Other duties as required.  
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience. 
  • 4–6 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred. 
  • Experience supporting projects for municipal or public owners (DC Water experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of project controls, contract administration, and cost tracking
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
  • Willingness to work extended hours as required by project demands
