Job description

Job Title: Associate Engineer - Meter

Location: Orange, CT (60 Marsh Hill Road)

Work type: Office (on-site)

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $79,680 to $99,600.

Job Summary

Join our Meter Engineering team to solve a range of technical challenges related to meter applications. You'll conduct detailed engineering analyses, design work, and calculations using standard methodologies, while providing technical support for metering standards, installations, and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Meter Test Center and Meter Engineering teams

  • Assist Data Services in identifying and resolving ISO metering data discrepancies through field meter probing

  • Provide technical support to field staff and contractors regarding metering issues

  • Contribute to some phases of Substation Metering projects

  • Specify and recommend appropriate metering equipment for various projects and assignments following UI guidebook

  • Develop proficiency in metering codes, standards, and regulations

  • Review metering requests from internal and external stakeholders

  • Prepare construction drawings, material requisitions, and cost estimates with guidance as needed

  • Assist technicians with meter troubleshooting and updates

  • Revise and maintain station metering prints to reflect system changes

  • Coordinate with various departments for metering updates or installations

  • Participate in storm duty assignments as required.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited college/university and 0-2 years of experience OR

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited college/university plus 4+ related industry experience in areas such as Distribution, Transmission, or electrical fieldwork.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
