Job Summary:
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions for national security and defense. They are seeking a Database Engineer to support Enterprise-Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, contributing to a high-impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
โ€ข Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
โ€ข Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.
โ€ข Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข A Bachelors Degree in related field and 2+ years of experience, OR
โ€ข A Masters Degree in related field and 0+ years of experience, OR
โ€ข A High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience
โ€ข 7+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience to design, engineer, implement, test, and secure enterprise-grade relational and non-relational database solutions such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, Oracle and Mongo DB across Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
โ€ข Experience implementing, administering, monitoring, and utilizing High Availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations technologies, concepts, and functions.
โ€ข Database performance optimization tasks such as query plan optimization, query rewrite, and index creation and design.
โ€ข Should have previous systems engineering experience within an established Systems Development LifeCycle (SDLC) program.
โ€ข Minimum active TS/SCI required to start, candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a CI Poly once selected.
โ€ข Must have current Sec+ (or applicable) certification or be willing to complete certification within 90 days of starting employment.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with MariaDB/MySQL internals such as memory management and storage engines.
โ€ข Experience with high availability solutions like Galera Cluster, master-master replication, and master-slave replication.
โ€ข Experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure concepts.
