Job description

Structural BIM/CADD TechnicianPosition Description

As a Structural BIM/CADD Technician, you will be an integral part of the team. This position will generate ideas into reality by coordinating with the commercial, healthcare, education and retail teams to produce drawings and other construction documents. This role will use Revit building information software to create three-dimensional drawings as directed by a senior engineer or designer. This position will assist in design and quality control to produce the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Position Salary Range*

The expected salary range for this position is $25 to $30 hourly.

Required Qualifications**
  • Associate degree or higher education in computer technology, drafting and design, integrated arts, animation and modeling, or other related programs
  • 5-10 years of job-related experience or more
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Auto CADD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook
  • Competent mathematical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in modeling structural systems using Revit BIM software with guidance from engineers or structural designers

Position Responsibilities***
  • Drawing input and set up utilizing office standards and basic design criteria provided by an engineer and under their supervisor, prepare and change drawings
  • Assist in the production of construction documents utilizing Revit building information software
  • Collaborate with peers and assist in training and direction of less experienced drafter
  • Coordinate production of documents with other departments
  • Produce CADD based documents or changes to documents and development of details based on "Red Lines" from supervisors or other senior team members
  • Prepare construction documents as directed by the engineer, designer, technician, or project manager, i.e., plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules
  • Conduct site surveys under the direction of an engineer or designer for as-building existing structural systems for input into drawings
  • Assist in the preparation of system or building layouts and help with limited coordination with other departments
  • Provide reviews of shop drawings during the construction administration process for engineer of record approval
  • Prepare and coordinate production plotting efforts with the team and other disciplines
  • Notify other team members/departments of changes that may affect their drawings
