Job Announcement:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University is seeking outstanding Professional faculty candidates who will challenge our talented student body and contribute to our excellent teaching and research initiatives.
Current department educational initiatives include a focus on technical excellence, innovation, leadership, and global engineering that prepares graduating students to become truly influential engineers in their chosen areas of expertise. The National Survey of Student Engagement placed BYU in the 93rd percentile for level of academic challenge and in the 91st percentile in fostering active and collaborative learning. Over 75 percent of our BS graduates attend graduate school, and BYU is fifth on the list of U.S. baccalaureate recipients that go on to obtain engineering doctoral degrees. Student teams from BYU consistently place in the top ten in national and international design competitions. Our students have exceptional experience in leadership and global settings (over 80 percent of graduating seniors speak a second language and/or have lived in a foreign country for over a year), making them well poised to become global leaders. We expect our faculty to challenge these outstanding students to reach their potential.
