Position Summary:
The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching professor in Accounting. This is a teaching-focused role responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses. The successful candidate will bring relevant industry experience, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to translate real-world accounting practices into an engaging academic environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester in accounting and related topics.
  • Develop and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and industry standards.
  • Incorporate applied, experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement.
  • Maintain regular office hours and provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with developments in accounting practice, regulation, and education.
  • Engage in service activities that support the department, college, and university as appropriate for a teaching-focused appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience in accounting practice.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Familiarity with accounting curriculum.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to student-centered learning.

Assistant or Associate non-tenure track Teaching Professors for this position are expected to hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, DBA, LLM, MST) or its professional equivalent. The teaching positions are 10-month, full-time, non-tenure track appointments. Successful candidates will teach 24 credits over two semesters, with an option to teach overload and summer classes for additional compensation. Positions are renewable based on performance reviews and programmatic needs.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:
Assistant Teaching Professor: Ranges 21-24
Associate Teaching Professor: Ranges 25-27
