We're looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the HMB team

Opportunities available in Frankfort and Lexington, KY and Mt. Juliet and Murfreesboro, TN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projects
  •  Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, supporting senior engineering staff 
  • Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conduct feasibility studies for new or expanded public utility infrastructure
  •  Analyze and recommend water and wastewater treatment technologies based on project requirements and effectiveness
  • Design and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systems
  • Ensure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
  •  Prepare feasibility studies related to the collection, treatment, and distribution of water and wastewater 
  • Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience designing water treatment plants, in part or in whole, a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines and other assigned project parameters
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
