Associate Product Owner
Introduction
This is a unique opportunity for an early-career product professional to gain exposure to advanced technologies like AI/ML, cloud-native platforms, and high-performance computing. You'll contribute to meaningful product decisions, collaborate with highly technical teams, and help shape solutions used by sophisticated enterprise and scientific users.
Compensation & Employment Details

Job Summary
The Associate Product Owner helps shape the future of our AI- and HPC-powered platform for scientific computing. This role sits at the intersection of customer insight, emerging technology, and platform architecture, helping inform what we build next.
You will play a critical role in translating user needs and technical possibilities into actionable product direction. In this role, you will ensure our platform evolves to meet the needs of advanced users across life sciences, data science, and engineering domains.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support early-stage product discovery and planning for platform capabilities, particularly in HPC and AI/ML workloads
  • Act as the "voice of the market" during roadmap planning and backlog grooming
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and architecture teams to translate vision into execution
  • Assist in driving initiatives related to:
    • Compute orchestration
    • Workload scheduling
    • Data-intensive pipelines
    • AI/ML tooling
  • Stay current on emerging technologies (e.g., GPUs, AI agents, LLM integrations, cloud-native scaling) and contribute to platform direction
  • Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to support product design and development
  • Facilitate Agile sprint ceremonies and support SDLC processes from discovery through release
  • Assist with:
    • Product UAT
    • KPI reporting and product metrics tracking
    • Regulatory documentation
    • Client-facing instructional materials
  • Develop and maintain user journey maps
  • Structure, document, and model product requirements
  • Evaluate solution options and estimate business value
  • Analyze and manage changes to requirements and designs
  • Build strong partnerships across product, engineering, and design teams

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of product management experience, including focus on platform or infrastructure products.
  • Experience in a B2B, SaaS, or enterprise environment with technical users (e.g., data scientists, modelers, engineers).
  • Demonstrable technical and business writing skills
  • Proficient at Requirements Analysis
  • Ability to evaluate and frame technical trade-offs with architects and engineering leaders.
  • Proficiency in using process maps and other visual diagram tools to model requirements and processes
  • Strong discovery, prioritization, and roadmap development capabilities
  • Confident communicator, skilled at simplifying complex concepts for diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly capable team
Education and Experience
  • 4-year college degree (technical or quantitative science) or equivalent work experience with evidence of proficiency and achievement in software engineering, infrastructure management, and programming languages. Additional training, certification, and/or experience in virtualized infrastructure-related tasks is preferred.
  • Experience working in and across cross-disciplinary teams including engineering, systems administration, networking, and security functions.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML toolchains and workflows (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, model lifecycle management) a plus.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices or similar credentials preferred
  • Additional training and/or certification in virtualized infrastructure and information security are preferred.
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Jira and Google Suite a plus
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Adept with Atlassian product suite and ZenQMS a plus
  • Fluency with Google Suite or MS Office. Proficiency using Mac OS preferred.

The job frequently requires working at a computer terminal, standing or sitting, and the ability to operate the computer with proficiency.
