Title: Wire Harness Fabrication Associate (Product Development Associate)
Location: Onsite at Elmdorf, TX
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5 PM

Job Overview 

  • Fabricate and assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, and requestor specifications.
  • Measure, cut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Routed and bundled wires, installed connectors, labels, heat shrink tubing, and protective sleeving to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Performed continuity, insulation resistance, and quality inspections to verify compliance with industry standards and production requirements.
  • Maintained a clean and organized work area while following safety procedures and meeting production schedules.
  • Collaborated with quality and engineering teams to troubleshoot wiring issues and identify solutions.     

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fabricating prototype automotive-type wire harness assemblies, including soldering and crimping.
  • Vehicle installation of wire harnesses and overlays.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, written and verbal descriptions.
  • Wire harness inspection.
  • Learn proper and efficient operation of wire harness fabrication equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of fabrication equipment.
  • General labor around facility & other tasks as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Vehicle-level electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Able to read automotive vehicle electrical schematics.
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes and digital voltage ohmmeters.
  • Collecting data using a Canalyzer and/or similar devices.
  • Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive industry.
  • Basic MS Office knowledge.
