Job description

Summary:
The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the positioning, enhancement and development of GW&K's investment offerings for all channels, specifically Institutional, Advisory and Private Wealth. This will include understanding and identifying market trends as well as client needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the global investment management landscape, experience positioning, developing and rationalizing investment products and vehicles and the ability to collaborate across all key areas of the firm, including Investments, Sales, Marketing, Enterprise Data and Analytics, Compliance and Operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior management to define product priorities across channels, identify the appropriate strategies to promote and then work to ensure these priorities are clearly articulated across all channels and investment teams.
  • Participate in the development of new investment products and vehicles, in conjunction with the Product Development Committee, from concept to launch.
  • Conduct market research, including analyzing competitive landscape and key competitors as well as defining product features to educate senior management on key marketplace trends.
  • Align with senior management to define longer term product strategies, including key growth drivers and constraints of the firm and to translate these into key initiatives to execute.
  • Work with Investment teams, Sales and Marketing to successfully position investment strategies, including understanding the competitive marketplace.
  • Facilitate the development of marketing content specific to products and markets.
  • Support the rationalization of existing strategies and/or vehicles when appropriate.
  • Develop a solid understanding of all product vehicle economics, including key drivers of overall costs and maintain ongoing views of these economics to support senior decision making.
  • Engage with sales to gather feedback, understand client investment needs across channels and incorporate insights into product communications and/or enhancements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of product management experience within investment management; CFA charter designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the global investment management landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Solid understanding of the product marketing needs for each client segment including Institutional, Advisory and Private Wealth clients.
  • Understand market trends across channels, including client needs, and articulate these coherently to senior colleagues across the firm.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to articulate key product features through graphics and or presentation materials.
  • Proficient in Morningstar Direct and eVestment Analytics.
  • Strong technical ability with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Must be professional and possess the confidence to work effectively with all levels within the organization including senior management.
  • Strong attention to detail with desire to achieve high quality standards.

This role is based in our Boston office on a hybrid schedule - 4 days per week in-office, 1 day per week remote.
The actual base salary is dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, GW&K employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and/or commission, which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.
